The Band Codex Atlas & reference for injectors
The instruments

Measure what READ measures.

Three instruments at the altitude of the consultation. They run on the reference head from the atlas, or on your own patient photograph, entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded anywhere. They show the reasoning READ applies; they do not issue a plan, and every number here is a cue for the clinician's eye, never a substitute for it.

01 · Profile read · READ item A2

The angles of the profile plane

Drag the landmarks. The instrument reads the nasofrontal, nasolabial and labiomental angles, the facial convexity angle, the lip positions against Ricketts' E-line and the chin against a true vertical through subnasale, and on the reference skull the gonial angle. Norms are cited on the sources page.

Scale

Soft nasion to soft menton mm

Angles

Nasofrontal G · N · Prn · range 115 to 130
Nasolabial Cm · Sn · Ls · men 93 to 99 ideal, 90 to 110 classical
Labiomental Li · Sm · Pg' · normal 110 to 130
Facial convexity G · Sn · Pg' · 168 ± 4 (Legan and Burstone)
Gonial angle Co · Go · Me · adults commonly 120 to 130

Lines

Upper lip to E-line about 4 mm behind
Lower lip to E-line about 2 mm behind

02 · Proportion read · READ item A1

Thirds and the width ratio

Trichion, glabella, subnasale, stomion and menton give the vertical thirds and the lower-third split. Zygion and gonion on each side give the bigonial to bizygomatic ratio, the read that decides whether the lower face is a width question at all. The default points are the reference skull's soft-tissue landmarks.

Vertical thirds classical reference: equal thirds

Upper · trichion to glabella
Middle · glabella to subnasale
Lower · subnasale to menton
Lower-third split · lip to chin reference one third to two thirds

Width

Bigonial to bizygomatic ratio Farkas men 97.1 / 139.1 = 0.70 by caliper

Soft-tissue widths measured on a photograph run wider than caliper widths pressed to bone, and camera distance changes the apparent ratio. The thresholds in the read below are illustrative cues; the Codex reads proportion by eye, and the clinician outranks the number.

03 · The shape of a plan

From fourteen reads to five steps.

Enter a consultation the way READ captures it. The instrument shows which gates fire, which steps become eligible, which run by default, and how frame, skin, ambition and visibility shape the ceiling and the locks. It shows the shape of a plan, never the plan: no regions inside a step, no volumes, no order of points.

D3 · What he would hate

This instrument reproduces the gate order, the default and indication archetypes, the frame and skin modifiers, the visibility ceiling and the lock rules exactly as READ and BUILD state them, at the level of steps and named anchors. Which read fires which point, and with how much, is the Masterclass. In the chair, the three stops outrank all of it.
