BUILD the man.
The Band Codex is the first complete system for male full-face harmonisation with dermal filler. A Codex, not a manual: a manual lists procedures, a Codex charts how one mind thinks about one problem. Fourteen reads in the chair, five steps in a locked order, and three stops that end a session before the face looks treated.

Seven spoken with the man, seven observed in silence with a marker pen. No score. Every read routes into the plan, a limit on it, or a gate in front of it.
Base, Uplift, Install, Link, Detail. Two run by default, three only on indication. The jawline is drawn fourth, never first.
Contour distortion, the full compartment, and the Believability Stop: the region stops when the whole face reads in harmony, whatever the plan predicted.
A stance, then a sequence.
Aesthetic medicine grew up around the female face, and its habits went with it: the zone menu, the syringe count, a mirror used to point at flaws. A man treated that way drifts one of two ways: soft, because the wrong structure was filled, or done, because each fix compensated for the last. The Codex exists so that neither happens.
READ, then BUILD
READ is the consultation, systematised: why he is here, what he already values, what the clinician observes in the anatomy, and what the plan must never become. Fourteen items, in the order a real consultation runs.
BUILD is the treatment session: five steps in a fixed order, each with an archetype (default or indication-driven), a plane register, a signature that says when it is done, and a stop.
The earlier third pillar, GUARD, was retired in July 2026. Vascular and complication competence is a prerequisite for a Codex clinician, not a chapter of the Codex; its stewardship ideas now live inside READ and the closing doctrine.
Four things the Codex refuses to be
- Not a general injection-safety text. Vascular anatomy and complication management are the injecting practitioner's own foundation.
- Not a female-aesthetics framework. Male only, by design, including the two anti-feminisation axes checked at every midface sitting.
- Not a technique demonstration. The signature is restraint, sequence and harmony, not new needle work.
- Not a one-off. Every plan carries a six-week clinical review and an annual re-read. Decades, not syringes.
The rules the whole system obeys.
Everything downstream is an application of these. If a step, a read or a stop cannot be traced to one of them, it is not Codex.
- Refinement, not correction.
- Decades, not syringes. The plan ages a man well; it does not freeze him.
- Read before you build. Anatomy is read before a named zone is confirmed; frame and skin are read before a volume is permitted.
- Volume is an algorithm, not a habit.
- Restraint over prediction. When the predicted volume and the face disagree, the face wins.
- The treated face must not look treated. No iatrogenic signature.
- Two axes of anti-feminisation in the midface, static and dynamic, both held at the same sitting.
- Every step declares its archetype before a single volume publishes: indication-driven or default-driven.
- Every step earns its signature. A step is done when its signature reads, not when the volume is delivered.
- The senior consultant does not perform authority. Calm declaratives; the patient is a colleague in his own care.
- A doctrine that cannot survive a plain question from outside the clinic is not yet a doctrine.
Five steps. In that order.
Base sets the lateral envelope. Uplift projects through it. Install sets the lower-face anchors. Link draws the line between anchors that already hold. Detail closes, only where the whole face still asks for it. A clinician who delivers the steps out of order has not delivered BUILD; they have delivered injections in the BUILD vocabulary.
Three steps on bone. The line is the first to leave it. Detail spans every plane.
In Install we do not fill skin, we rebuild bone. If it does not behave like bone, it is not Install.
We stop injecting the individual region as the overall facial harmony goals are achieved.
Anatomy the way the Codex reads it.

Measure what READ measures.
Three interactive instruments at the altitude of the consultation: the profile read, the proportion read, and the shape a plan takes once the fourteen reads are in. They show the reasoning; they do not issue a plan.
The angles of the profile plane
Place eight soft-tissue landmarks on the reference profile, or on your own patient photograph, and read the nasofrontal, nasolabial and labiomental angles, facial convexity and the E-line, against published male norms.
Thirds and the width ratio
Vertical thirds and the bigonial-to-bizygomatic ratio, the two proportion reads that decide whether the lower face is a length question, a width question, or neither.

The work, and the man behind it.
Dr Bassam Band is a GMC-registered doctor (GMC 7458919) with almost a decade of male-specialised injecting. Over nine in ten of his patients are men. He is a senior trainer for one of the UK's largest aesthetics academies, teaches the Codex to doctors internationally, and was named one of Aesthetic Medicine's five male transformation experts to follow in 2026.
The proof is in the faces: results that read as inherited, not injected, because the structure was built in the right order and the session stopped when the face said so.
